ECEGSA Meeting Minutes – October 21, 2014

Meeting minutes from last meeting: Approved
Networking Night Venue
– made a short list of preferred venues, Shreya will get more info from them (plus a few hotels)
– we will each rank our preferred venues by preference and make a decision by email
Networking Night Sponsorship Packages
– sponsorship package looks good, Felix will make a few edits
– next is making the one page sheet, Felix will take care of this
– Michelle will start on website
– hope to check with career centre and maybe Darla and have stuff ready in a week
IEEE Workshop
– November 6, 12pm to 3pm (pizza and discussion for the first hour)
– they will take care of things, but need someone to help set up, etc 15 minutes ahead of time, Shreya will do that
– Michelle will send out email
Linux Workshop
– October 29 (Wed), 11:30am to 2:30pm, last hour is just questions
– Michelle will get email and send out
– Michelle will be around to set up and get things started
Alumni Event
– around convocation time, just an extended coffee
– don’t do a separate event, just extend invite to people that are convocating
Next Meeting
– 4pm next Tuesday
VP Academic Position
– decided that it is best for the organization if we don’t have someone gone for a 2 month period
– will offer 2 options: either stay in the position at full capacity until April or we will have to find a replacement
– if staying on at full capacity until April is possible, there will be no need to find a replacement
– if a replacement is necessary, we will send out an email informing students that a position is available and decide from there how to proceed (elections vs. appointing someone)
