Minutes:
- Ghasem mentioned that he will look into a good file sharing system for students.
- The committee decided that each member will look for a venue for the industry night taht can host up to 200 people.
- The committee decided to shift the main goal of the industry night from only networking to finding sponsorship for the research projects.
- Sabrina proposed to invite Mitacs in the industry night.
- Ali mentioned that he will talk with Dr. Ivanov and the Head of the applied science program about organizing the networking event.
- Ali mentioned that he will draft an reminder email for the hiking trip.
- Ghasem gave update about the sports event: 1. Volleyball: 12 people enrolled; Basketball: 5 people enrolled, 3: Soccer: Ghasem will get info from Ahmed Ashoori.
- Volleyball will happen this Sunday at Jericho, Ali will send the reminder email.
- Bike co-op: Ali will buy the bike, lock and helmate next week, sabria will make a sign for the Bike co-op program, Cara will draft an agreement form.
- The committee decided to let decision of organizing dance lessons as proposed by a fellow student(Saloome) be postponed until the new members join and it will be put into a vote
- Orientation: Ghasem mentioned that he will update the website to put the orientation events, the committee decided to have two introductory sessions
